Čile i Izrael, dvije su zemlje koje se posebno ističu po učinkovitosti procjepljivanja stanovništva cjepivom protiv koronavirusa. Međutim, njihova potpuno različita iskustva u (ne)svladavanju pandemije trebala bi nam poslužiti kao dobra škola što se danas sutra može dogoditi i nama.

Primjer Čilea pokazuje da čak i vrlo brzo i efikasno masovno cijepljenje možda neće biti dovoljno za izbjegavanje novih zaključavanja.

Izrael je zemlja koja se prije ostalih približila postizanju  kolektivnog imuniteta - do sada je prvom dozom cijepio oko 60 posto stanovništva, a drugom više od 50 posto. Zahvaljujući tako uspješnoj kampanji, smrtnost od COVID-19 pala je u zemlji  za skoro 90 posto. Njihova je epidemiološka situacija izvrsna, toliko je dobra da su nastavljena predavanja na sveučilištima, održavaju se koncerti i druga masovna okupljanja, a normalno rade kafići i restorani.

Suprotno njima, u Čileu, zemlji s 18 milijuna stanovnika, događa se nova korona katastrofa. Iako imaju jednu od najbržih stopa cijepljenja na svijetu (cijepili su 37 posto stanovništva), nanovo su zatvorili svoje granice i opet uveli strogi lockdown. Medicinski stručnjaci u zemlji optužili su vladu da je kriva za porast novih slučajeva zbog preuranjenog otvaranja gospodarstva nakon što je program cijepljenja dobro krenuo.

Za neočekivani skok zaraze epidemiolozi navode nekoliko mogućih razloga: širenje zaraznijih sojeva koronavirusa iz Brazila; povećan broj Čileanaca koji putuju širom zemlje te dolazak turista; otvaranje škola; i značajno slabije pridržavanje socijalne distance i drugih epidemioloških mjera jer je cijepljenje ljudima dalo osjećaj sigurnosti. No, pokazalo se da sigurnosti nema - mrtvačnica u čileanskom gradu Valparaisu trenutačno je puna. Dnevni slučajevi novozaraženih u cijeloj zemlji dosegnuli su 9000, čime je debelo premašen vrhunac od 5000 iz prošlog lipnja. Broj smrtnih slučajeva popeo se preko 200 dnevno.

Lawrence Young, virolog s Medicinskog fakulteta Warwick za britanski Guardian je ocijenio:

 “Čile se previše oslonio samo na cjepiva. Cjepiva su fantastična, ali nikad neće sama biti rješenje, a ono što se događa u Čileu jasno nam to pokazuje – kazao je Young.  

Velika Britanija, naime pokazuje sličan uspjeh kao i Čile, procijepila je 45 posto stanovnika prvom dozom, a smrtnost joj je također drastično pala. U Londonu prošli ponedjeljak nije zabilježen ni jedan smrtni slučaj od korone, a do nedavno ih je bilo na stotine. Britanski profesor napominje kako nije posve jasno je li do različite situacije nakon cijepljenja u Čileu i Izraelu došlo zbog razlike između vremena cijepljenja, vrste korištenog cjepiva ili pojave novog virulentnijeg soja koronavirusa.

U Britaniji su smrtni slučajevi kao i prijemi u bolnice naglo opali, ali stanovništvo se pita što će se dogoditi nakon što je danas krenulo ublažavanja mjera? Hoće li uspjeti kao Izrael i doživjeti fijasko kao Čile?

Izrael je i uz cijepljenje bio stalno pripravan, svaki epidemiološki korak je bio pomno planiran. Istodobno s masovnom vakcinacijom donijeli su niz drugih odluka i inicijativa kako bi održali povoljnu COVID situaciju. Uključili su sustav zelenih propusnica koje daju osobama koje su primile obje doze cjepiva ili su preboljele COVID. Uveli su testovi na antitijela - koji pokazuju ima li osoba protutijela iz cjepiva ili iz prethodne infekcije - što omogućuju međunarodnim putnicima koji dolaze u Izrael izbjegavanje dvotjedne karantene. Izraelske zdravstvene vlasti također razmatraju davanje cjepiva starijoj djeci nakon što ih regulatorni tijela odobre. To sve pokazuje da dugoročno planiraju.

Znanstvenici procjenjuju da će biti potrebno više od 11 milijardi doza cjepiva da bi se s dvije doze cijepilo 70 posto svjetske populacije. Nedavno objavljeni podaci, međutim, ukazuju da su najbogatije zemlje - koje čine samo jednu petinu svjetske populacije kupile 6 milijardi doza, dok su preostale siromašnije nacije (koje predstavljaju čak četiri petine čovječanstva) osigurale tek 2,6 milijardi doza cjepiva.

Nitko nije siguran dok svi nisu sigurni, a postizanje tog cilja moglo bi potrajati godinama. Ako bogati pomognu siromašnijima, do cilja će se brže doći.

Čile i Izrael, dvije su zemlje koje se posebno ističu po učinkovitosti procjepljivanja stanovništva cjepivom protiv koronavirusa. Međutim, njihova potpuno različita iskustva u (ne)svladavanju pandemije trebala bi nam poslužiti kao dobra škola što se danas sutra može dogoditi i nama.

Primjer Čilea pokazuje da čak i vrlo brzo i efikasno masovno cijepljenje možda neće biti dovoljno za izbjegavanje novih zaključavanja.

Izrael je zemlja koja se prije ostalih približila postizanju  kolektivnog imuniteta - do sada je prvom dozom cijepio oko 60 posto stanovništva, a drugom više od 50 posto. Zahvaljujući tako uspješnoj kampanji, smrtnost od COVID-19 pala je u zemlji  za skoro 90 posto. Njihova je epidemiološka situacija izvrsna, toliko je dobra da su nastavljena predavanja na sveučilištima, održavaju se koncerti i druga masovna okupljanja, a normalno rade kafići i restorani.

Suprotno njima, u Čileu, zemlji s 18 milijuna stanovnika, događa se nova korona katastrofa. Iako imaju jednu od najbržih stopa cijepljenja na svijetu (cijepili su 37 posto stanovništva), nanovo su zatvorili svoje granice i opet uveli strogi lockdown. Medicinski stručnjaci u zemlji optužili su vladu da je kriva za porast novih slučajeva zbog preuranjenog otvaranja gospodarstva nakon što je program cijepljenja dobro krenuo.

Za neočekivani skok zaraze epidemiolozi navode nekoliko mogućih razloga: širenje zaraznijih sojeva koronavirusa iz Brazila; povećan broj Čileanaca koji putuju širom zemlje te dolazak turista; otvaranje škola; i značajno slabije pridržavanje socijalne distance i drugih epidemioloških mjera jer je cijepljenje ljudima dalo osjećaj sigurnosti. No, pokazalo se da sigurnosti nema - mrtvačnica u čileanskom gradu Valparaisu trenutačno je puna. Dnevni slučajevi novozaraženih u cijeloj zemlji dosegnuli su 9000, čime je debelo premašen vrhunac od 5000 iz prošlog lipnja. Broj smrtnih slučajeva popeo se preko 200 dnevno.

Lawrence Young, virolog s Medicinskog fakulteta Warwick za britanski Guardian je ocijenio:

 “Čile se previše oslonio samo na cjepiva. Cjepiva su fantastična, ali nikad neće sama biti rješenje, a ono što se događa u Čileu jasno nam to pokazuje – kazao je Young.  

Velika Britanija, naime pokazuje sličan uspjeh kao i Čile, procijepila je 45 posto stanovnika prvom dozom, a smrtnost joj je također drastično pala. U Londonu prošli ponedjeljak nije zabilježen ni jedan smrtni slučaj od korone, a do nedavno ih je bilo na stotine. Britanski profesor napominje kako nije posve jasno je li do različite situacije nakon cijepljenja u Čileu i Izraelu došlo zbog razlike između vremena cijepljenja, vrste korištenog cjepiva ili pojave novog virulentnijeg soja koronavirusa.

U Britaniji su smrtni slučajevi kao i prijemi u bolnice naglo opali, ali stanovništvo se pita što će se dogoditi nakon što je danas krenulo ublažavanja mjera? Hoće li uspjeti kao Izrael i doživjeti fijasko kao Čile?

Izrael je i uz cijepljenje bio stalno pripravan, svaki epidemiološki korak je bio pomno planiran. Istodobno s masovnom vakcinacijom donijeli su niz drugih odluka i inicijativa kako bi održali povoljnu COVID situaciju. Uključili su sustav zelenih propusnica koje daju osobama koje su primile obje doze cjepiva ili su preboljele COVID. Uveli su testovi na antitijela - koji pokazuju ima li osoba protutijela iz cjepiva ili iz prethodne infekcije - što omogućuju međunarodnim putnicima koji dolaze u Izrael izbjegavanje dvotjedne karantene. Izraelske zdravstvene vlasti također razmatraju davanje cjepiva starijoj djeci nakon što ih regulatorni tijela odobre. To sve pokazuje da dugoročno planiraju.

Znanstvenici procjenjuju da će biti potrebno više od 11 milijardi doza cjepiva da bi se s dvije doze cijepilo 70 posto svjetske populacije. Nedavno objavljeni podaci, međutim, ukazuju da su najbogatije zemlje - koje čine samo jednu petinu svjetske populacije kupile 6 milijardi doza, dok su preostale siromašnije nacije (koje predstavljaju čak četiri petine čovječanstva) osigurale tek 2,6 milijardi doza cjepiva.

Nitko nije siguran dok svi nisu sigurni, a postizanje tog cilja moglo bi potrajati godinama. Ako bogati pomognu siromašnijima, do cilja će se brže doći.
