Među brojnim europskim i svjetskim kraljevskim delegacijama, na ispraćaju britanske kraljice Elizabete II. bio je i nasljedni princ Jugoslavije Aleksandar Karađorđević sa svojom suprugom, princezom Katarinom. Kao pretendent na jugoslavensko prijestolje Aleksandar je cijelo vrijeme i tituliran od strane britanskoga protokola, pa se ironično može reći da su i Hrvati, osim predsjednika Republike Zorana Milanovića, u Londonu imali i svojega drugoga delegata. I premda je zadnja Jugoslavija, ona krnja, prestala postojati 2006. godine.

Aleksandar je nazočio i privatnome dijelu pogrebne ceremonije, pošto je Elizabeta II bila njegova krsna kuma. Kršten je, naime, 1945. u Westminsterskoj opatiji, a kumovi su mu bili tadašnji kralj Ujedinjenog kraljevstva George VI. i njegova kći, tadašnja princeza Elizabeta.

Za prinčevsko-kraljevsku titulu Aleksandra Karađorđevića nad Jugoslavijom nije vezana samo jedna kontroverza. Osim činjenice da je monarhija kojom bi trebao upravljati već u trenutku njegova rođenja bila prošlost, on je i po kraljevskim i po ustavnim kanonima morao biti i rođen na teritoriju svoje zemlje kako bi uopće ostvario formalne pretpostavke da njome jednom vlada.

  Srbijanski rojalisti i sama kraljevska obitelj Petra Karađorđevića su u tu svrhu u javnost plasirali efektnu priču kako je bivši britanski premijer Winston Churchill jednu sobu u hotelu Claridge, i to onu u kojoj je rođen princ, bio privremeno proglasio jugoslavenskim teritorijem. Nevolja je, međutim, što o tako nečemu u Britaniji ne postoji ama baš ni najmanji trag, a u demokracijama poput one na Otoku ni državni teritorij se ne može otuđivati bez odluke parlamenta, pa makar on bio i veličine jedne hotelske sobe. Nitko nema nijedan konkretan dokaz da je Churchill sobu 212 u hotelu Claridge ikad ustupio Jugoslaviji, pa ni na samo jedan dan, istražio je svojedobno i britanski BBC.

Nije Aleksandar, međutim, jedini potomak plave krvi koji uporno polaže pravo na kraljevski autoritet, među ostalim, i nad Hrvatima. Tu je i teorijski pretendent na prijestolja svih nekadašnjih habsburških zemalja Karlo Habsburški, najstariji sin Ota Habsburškog i unuk posljednjega austrougarskoga cara Karla Prvog. Karlov jedini sin, a ujedno i nasljednik njegove titule, zove se Ferdinand Zvonimir i poznati je austrijski automobilistički as, rođen 1997. u Salzburgu. Krstio ga je kardinal Franjo Kuharić u Zagrebu dodijelivši mu hrvatsko kraljevsko ime po Dmitru Zvonimiru. Titula mu glasi nadvojvoda Ferdinand Zvonimir Austrijski, carski princ Austrije, te kraljevski princ Ugarske, Hrvatske i Češke.

Najrjeđe se za prijestolje nad Hrvatima jagme potomci Tomislava Drugoga Savojskog, talijanskog princa kojemu je kraljevstvo svojedobno harno poklonio poglavnik NDH Ante Pavelić i čija je puna titula glasila kralj Hrvatske, princ Bosne i Hercegovine, vojvoda Dalmacije, Tuzle i Knina. Tomislav Drugi postao je službeni kralj Hrvatske na ceremoniji u Rimu 1941., kad je Pavelić od talijanskoga kralja Viktora Emanuela Trećeg tražio da Aimone Roberta Margherita Maria Giuseppea Torino di Savoia proglasi hrvatskim kraljem Tomislavom. Krunidba je trebala biti održana na Duvanjskom polju, ali je Pavelić Rimskim ugovorima i poklanjanjem Dalmacije Italiji pokvario svečarsku atmosferu, pa ovaj hrvatski kralj nikad nije stupio nogom u svoje kraljevstvo, a poslije je emigrirao u Argentinu.

Među brojnim europskim i svjetskim kraljevskim delegacijama, na ispraćaju britanske kraljice Elizabete II. bio je i nasljedni princ Jugoslavije Aleksandar Karađorđević sa svojom suprugom, princezom Katarinom. Kao pretendent na jugoslavensko prijestolje Aleksandar je cijelo vrijeme i tituliran od strane britanskoga protokola, pa se ironično može reći da su i Hrvati, osim predsjednika Republike Zorana Milanovića, u Londonu imali i svojega drugoga delegata. I premda je zadnja Jugoslavija, ona krnja, prestala postojati 2006. godine.

Aleksandar je nazočio i privatnome dijelu pogrebne ceremonije, pošto je Elizabeta II bila njegova krsna kuma. Kršten je, naime, 1945. u Westminsterskoj opatiji, a kumovi su mu bili tadašnji kralj Ujedinjenog kraljevstva George VI. i njegova kći, tadašnja princeza Elizabeta.

Za prinčevsko-kraljevsku titulu Aleksandra Karađorđevića nad Jugoslavijom nije vezana samo jedna kontroverza. Osim činjenice da je monarhija kojom bi trebao upravljati već u trenutku njegova rođenja bila prošlost, on je i po kraljevskim i po ustavnim kanonima morao biti i rođen na teritoriju svoje zemlje kako bi uopće ostvario formalne pretpostavke da njome jednom vlada.

  Srbijanski rojalisti i sama kraljevska obitelj Petra Karađorđevića su u tu svrhu u javnost plasirali efektnu priču kako je bivši britanski premijer Winston Churchill jednu sobu u hotelu Claridge, i to onu u kojoj je rođen princ, bio privremeno proglasio jugoslavenskim teritorijem. Nevolja je, međutim, što o tako nečemu u Britaniji ne postoji ama baš ni najmanji trag, a u demokracijama poput one na Otoku ni državni teritorij se ne može otuđivati bez odluke parlamenta, pa makar on bio i veličine jedne hotelske sobe. Nitko nema nijedan konkretan dokaz da je Churchill sobu 212 u hotelu Claridge ikad ustupio Jugoslaviji, pa ni na samo jedan dan, istražio je svojedobno i britanski BBC.

Nije Aleksandar, međutim, jedini potomak plave krvi koji uporno polaže pravo na kraljevski autoritet, među ostalim, i nad Hrvatima. Tu je i teorijski pretendent na prijestolja svih nekadašnjih habsburških zemalja Karlo Habsburški, najstariji sin Ota Habsburškog i unuk posljednjega austrougarskoga cara Karla Prvog. Karlov jedini sin, a ujedno i nasljednik njegove titule, zove se Ferdinand Zvonimir i poznati je austrijski automobilistički as, rođen 1997. u Salzburgu. Krstio ga je kardinal Franjo Kuharić u Zagrebu dodijelivši mu hrvatsko kraljevsko ime po Dmitru Zvonimiru. Titula mu glasi nadvojvoda Ferdinand Zvonimir Austrijski, carski princ Austrije, te kraljevski princ Ugarske, Hrvatske i Češke.

Najrjeđe se za prijestolje nad Hrvatima jagme potomci Tomislava Drugoga Savojskog, talijanskog princa kojemu je kraljevstvo svojedobno harno poklonio poglavnik NDH Ante Pavelić i čija je puna titula glasila kralj Hrvatske, princ Bosne i Hercegovine, vojvoda Dalmacije, Tuzle i Knina. Tomislav Drugi postao je službeni kralj Hrvatske na ceremoniji u Rimu 1941., kad je Pavelić od talijanskoga kralja Viktora Emanuela Trećeg tražio da Aimone Roberta Margherita Maria Giuseppea Torino di Savoia proglasi hrvatskim kraljem Tomislavom. Krunidba je trebala biti održana na Duvanjskom polju, ali je Pavelić Rimskim ugovorima i poklanjanjem Dalmacije Italiji pokvario svečarsku atmosferu, pa ovaj hrvatski kralj nikad nije stupio nogom u svoje kraljevstvo, a poslije je emigrirao u Argentinu.
