Ivica Račan je za Radimira Čačića najbolji hrvatski premijer. Kaže da je vodio daleko najuspješniju hrvatsku Vladu i da praktički nije bilo njega, ne bi bilo ni Hrvatske.
Riječ je o Čačićevoj izjavi za N1. Nekadašnji ministar u Vladi koju je u siječnju 2000. formirala koalicija šest politički prilično raznorodnih stranaka, čudi se što se po Račanu danas u Hrvatskoj ne zove makar jedna ulica ili trg.

Pretjerano je reći da je on odredio kurs suverenoj Hrvatskoj, tu je Franjo Tuđman svakako više zaslužan, ali istina je da je komunist pa socijaldemokrat Račan također dobro "potegao za našu stvar".
U trenutku kada se Savez komunista Jugoslavije cijepao na pobornike unitarne države, koje je predvodio Slobodan Milošević, i napredne snage koje su se zalagale za demokratizaciju društva i uvođenje višestranačja, Račan je ostao na pravoj strani povijesti.

Tako je bilo i kad je počela agresija na Hrvatsku. Njegov se SDP pridružio politički suparničkom HDZ-u u Vladi demokratskog spasa, i tako poslao jasnu poruku rukovodstvima Srbije i Crne Gore da su sve političke opcije u Hrvatskoj, bez obzira na ideologiju i razmimoilaženja oko važnih društvenih pitanja, odlučne braniti međunarodno priznate granice.
Ljevičari i dandanas predbacuju Račanu da je vodio politiku koja se najbolje može opisati sintagmom "odlučno možda". Zamjeraju mu kolebljivost dok je vodio šesteročlanu koaliciju koja je funkcionirala kao rogovi u vreći.
No vjerni mu suradnik Čačić pamti da se u prilično nepovoljnim gospodarskim uvjetima, nekoliko godina nakon rata, odlučilo upustiti u gradnju autoceste između Zagreba i Splita, ostvariti stari san o povezivanju sjevera i juga Hrvatske modernom prometnicom.
Narodnjak Čačić svojski je prionuo poslu i u svome mandatu realizirao najzahtjevnije dionice Dalmatine.
Desničari ne mogu oprostiti Račanovu SDP-u kolebljivost oko pitanja hrvatske samostalnosti, koju je HDZ žešće gurao kroz saborske klupe od svojih crvenih oponenata.

Račan je HDZ u to vrijeme nazivao strankom opasnih namjera, no kad je agresija na Hrvatsku uzela maha, nedvojbeno je zaslužan za to što su i posljednji uvjereni Jugoslaveni prigrlili ideju o samostalnoj i europskoj Hrvatskoj kao najbolje i jedino rješenje političke krize koja je započela nakon Titove smrti, a završila ratom u Sloveniji, Hrvatskoj, BiH i Kosovu, NATO-ovim bombardiranjem Srbije i oružanim sukobima između Makedonaca i Albanaca u Makedoniji.
Bilo bi zanimljivo čuti što o Račanovu doprinosu hrvatskoj politici misle ne samo njezini akteri, nego i obični građani, svjedoci vremena u kojem su se, uz ogromne ljudske i materijalne žrtve, događale tektonske promjene, čije posljedice, ma kakve bile, i danas osjećamo.

Ivica Račan je za Radimira Čačića najbolji hrvatski premijer. Kaže da je vodio daleko najuspješniju hrvatsku Vladu i da praktički nije bilo njega, ne bi bilo ni Hrvatske.
Riječ je o Čačićevoj izjavi za N1. Nekadašnji ministar u Vladi koju je u siječnju 2000. formirala koalicija šest politički prilično raznorodnih stranaka, čudi se što se po Račanu danas u Hrvatskoj ne zove makar jedna ulica ili trg.
Je li Račan, kako kaže Čačić, čovjek bez kojeg ne bi bilo samostalne i europske Hrvatske? (ANKETA JE NA KRAJU TEKSTA)
Pretjerano je reći da je on odredio kurs suverenoj Hrvatskoj, tu je Franjo Tuđman svakako više zaslužan, ali istina je da je komunist pa socijaldemokrat Račan također dobro "potegao za našu stvar".
U trenutku kada se Savez komunista Jugoslavije cijepao na pobornike unitarne države, koje je predvodio Slobodan Milošević, i napredne snage koje su se zalagale za demokratizaciju društva i uvođenje višestranačja, Račan je ostao na pravoj strani povijesti.

Tako je bilo i kad je počela agresija na Hrvatsku. Njegov se SDP pridružio politički suparničkom HDZ-u u Vladi demokratskog spasa, i tako poslao jasnu poruku rukovodstvima Srbije i Crne Gore da su sve političke opcije u Hrvatskoj, bez obzira na ideologiju i razmimoilaženja oko važnih društvenih pitanja, odlučne braniti međunarodno priznate granice.
Ljevičari i dandanas predbacuju Račanu da je vodio politiku koja se najbolje može opisati sintagmom "odlučno možda". Zamjeraju mu kolebljivost dok je vodio šesteročlanu koaliciju koja je funkcionirala kao rogovi u vreći.
No vjerni mu suradnik Čačić pamti da se u prilično nepovoljnim gospodarskim uvjetima, nekoliko godina nakon rata, odlučilo upustiti u gradnju autoceste između Zagreba i Splita, ostvariti stari san o povezivanju sjevera i juga Hrvatske modernom prometnicom.
Narodnjak Čačić svojski je prionuo poslu i u svome mandatu realizirao najzahtjevnije dionice Dalmatine.
Desničari ne mogu oprostiti Račanovu SDP-u kolebljivost oko pitanja hrvatske samostalnosti, koju je HDZ žešće gurao kroz saborske klupe od svojih crvenih oponenata.

Račan je HDZ u to vrijeme nazivao strankom opasnih namjera, no kad je agresija na Hrvatsku uzela maha, nedvojbeno je zaslužan za to što su i posljednji uvjereni Jugoslaveni prigrlili ideju o samostalnoj i europskoj Hrvatskoj kao najbolje i jedino rješenje političke krize koja je započela nakon Titove smrti, a završila ratom u Sloveniji, Hrvatskoj, BiH i Kosovu, NATO-ovim bombardiranjem Srbije i oružanim sukobima između Makedonaca i Albanaca u Makedoniji.
Bilo bi zanimljivo čuti što o Račanovu doprinosu hrvatskoj politici misle ne samo njezini akteri, nego i obični građani, svjedoci vremena u kojem su se, uz ogromne ljudske i materijalne žrtve, događale tektonske promjene, čije posljedice, ma kakve bile, i danas osjećamo.
