Podvarijante omicrona BA.4 i BA.5 izbjegavaju antitijela i kod ljudi koji su imali prethodnu infekciju covidom i kod onih koji su bili potpuno cijepljeni, uključivo i 'booster' dozom, pokazala su nova istraživanja iz medicinskog centra Beth Israel Deaconess koji je dio harvardskog medicinskog fakulteta.


Međutim, još se uvijek očekuje da će cijepljenje protiv covida pružiti značajnu zaštitu od težih oboljenja. Proizvođači rade na unaprijeđenju cjepiva koja bi mogla potaknuti jači imunološki odgovor na ove varijante.


Prema novom istraživanju objavljenom u srijedu u New England Journal of Medicine, koje prenosi CNN,  razine neutralizirajućih antitijela koje izaziva prethodna infekcija ili cijepljenje nekoliko su puta niže kod podvarijanti BA.4 i BA.5 u usporedbi s izvornim koronavirusom.


"Primijetili smo trostruko smanjenje titara neutralizirajućih antitijela izazvanih cijepljenjem i infekcijom protiv BA.4 i BA.5 u usporedbi s podvarijantama BA.1 i BA.2, koji su već znatno niži od izvornih varijanti virusa“, odgovorio je putem elektroničke pošte CNN-u dr. Dan Barouch, autor rada i ravnatelj Centra za virusologiju i istraživanje cjepiva u medicinskom centru Beth Israel Deaconess u Bostonu.


"Naši podaci upućuju na to da postoji mogućnost da nove omicron podvarijante dovedu do porasta infekcija i kod populacije s visokom razinom imuniteta dobivenog cjepivom, kao i onih s prirodnim imunitetom na BA.1 i BA.2“, napisao je Barouch.


"Međutim, vjerojatno će imunitet stečen cjepivom i dalje pružati značajnu zaštitu od teških bolesti kod onih zaraženih podvarijantama BA.4 i BA.5“, dodao je.


Nedavno objavljeni nalazi podržavaju odvojeno istraživanje znanstvenika sa Sveučilišta Columbia.

Oni su nedavno otkrili da je veća vjerojatnost kako će virusi BA.4 i BA.5 izbjeći antitijela u krvi potpuno cijepljenih odraslih osoba i onih s 'booster' dozom, u usporedbi s drugim podvarijantama omicrona, što povećava rizik od infekcija covida koje probijaju imunitet.


Autori zasebne studije kažu da njihovi rezultati upućuju na veći rizik od ponovne infekcije čak i kod ljudi koji su prethodno stekli imunitet.


Američki centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti procjenjuju da je 94,7 posto američke populacije u dobi od 16 i više godina stvorilo antitijela cijepljenjem, infekcijom ili na oba načina.


BA.4 i BA.5 uzrokovali su prošlog tjedna u SAD-u oko 35 posto novih infekcija covidom u odnosu na 29 posto tjedan prije, prema podacima koje je u utorak objavio Američki centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti.


BA.4 i BA.5 podvarijante su one koje se do sada najbrže šire, a prema Europskom centru za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti očekuje se da će u sljedećih nekoliko tjedana dominirati zarazom covidom u Sjedinjenim Državama, Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i u ostatku Europe.

Podvarijante omicrona BA.4 i BA.5 izbjegavaju antitijela i kod ljudi koji su imali prethodnu infekciju covidom i kod onih koji su bili potpuno cijepljeni, uključivo i 'booster' dozom, pokazala su nova istraživanja iz medicinskog centra Beth Israel Deaconess koji je dio harvardskog medicinskog fakulteta.


Međutim, još se uvijek očekuje da će cijepljenje protiv covida pružiti značajnu zaštitu od težih oboljenja. Proizvođači rade na unaprijeđenju cjepiva koja bi mogla potaknuti jači imunološki odgovor na ove varijante.


Prema novom istraživanju objavljenom u srijedu u New England Journal of Medicine, koje prenosi CNN,  razine neutralizirajućih antitijela koje izaziva prethodna infekcija ili cijepljenje nekoliko su puta niže kod podvarijanti BA.4 i BA.5 u usporedbi s izvornim koronavirusom.


"Primijetili smo trostruko smanjenje titara neutralizirajućih antitijela izazvanih cijepljenjem i infekcijom protiv BA.4 i BA.5 u usporedbi s podvarijantama BA.1 i BA.2, koji su već znatno niži od izvornih varijanti virusa“, odgovorio je putem elektroničke pošte CNN-u dr. Dan Barouch, autor rada i ravnatelj Centra za virusologiju i istraživanje cjepiva u medicinskom centru Beth Israel Deaconess u Bostonu.


"Naši podaci upućuju na to da postoji mogućnost da nove omicron podvarijante dovedu do porasta infekcija i kod populacije s visokom razinom imuniteta dobivenog cjepivom, kao i onih s prirodnim imunitetom na BA.1 i BA.2“, napisao je Barouch.


"Međutim, vjerojatno će imunitet stečen cjepivom i dalje pružati značajnu zaštitu od teških bolesti kod onih zaraženih podvarijantama BA.4 i BA.5“, dodao je.


Nedavno objavljeni nalazi podržavaju odvojeno istraživanje znanstvenika sa Sveučilišta Columbia.

Oni su nedavno otkrili da je veća vjerojatnost kako će virusi BA.4 i BA.5 izbjeći antitijela u krvi potpuno cijepljenih odraslih osoba i onih s 'booster' dozom, u usporedbi s drugim podvarijantama omicrona, što povećava rizik od infekcija covida koje probijaju imunitet.


Autori zasebne studije kažu da njihovi rezultati upućuju na veći rizik od ponovne infekcije čak i kod ljudi koji su prethodno stekli imunitet.


Američki centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti procjenjuju da je 94,7 posto američke populacije u dobi od 16 i više godina stvorilo antitijela cijepljenjem, infekcijom ili na oba načina.


BA.4 i BA.5 uzrokovali su prošlog tjedna u SAD-u oko 35 posto novih infekcija covidom u odnosu na 29 posto tjedan prije, prema podacima koje je u utorak objavio Američki centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti.


BA.4 i BA.5 podvarijante su one koje se do sada najbrže šire, a prema Europskom centru za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti očekuje se da će u sljedećih nekoliko tjedana dominirati zarazom covidom u Sjedinjenim Državama, Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i u ostatku Europe.

Nove podvarijante koronavirusa mogu izbjeći antitijela od cijepljenja i zaraze

Podvarijante omicrona BA.4 i BA.5 izbjegavaju antitijela i kod ljudi koji su imali prethodnu infekciju covidom i kod onih koji su bili potpuno cijepljeni, uključivo i 'booster' dozom, pokazala su nova istraživanja iz medicinskog centra Beth Israel Deaconess koji je dio harvardskog medicinskog fakulteta.


Međutim, još se uvijek očekuje da će cijepljenje protiv covida pružiti značajnu zaštitu od težih oboljenja. Proizvođači rade na unaprijeđenju cjepiva koja bi mogla potaknuti jači imunološki odgovor na ove varijante.
