Otprilike polovica svih novih automobila preširoka je za standardno parkirno mjesto u europskim gradovima, prema novoj studiji, objavljenoj u trenutku kad se poziva da se preokrene trend kupovanja terenaca i većih vozila.
Prema organizaciji Transport & Environment prosječni novi automobil svake dvije godine postaje širi za jedan centimetar. Standardna širina automobila sada je 180,3 cm prema njihovom istraživanju, što je porast u odnosu na 177,8 cm u 2018.
Organizacija kaže da su od 100 najpopularnijih automobila u Europi 52 preširoka za standardno parkirno mjesto na ulici od 180 cm u velikim gradovima kao što su London, Pariz i Rim.
Također se kaže da sve veći broj velikih SUV vozila "ostavlja premalo prostora za ulazak i izlazak putnika iz vozila" u garažama i parkinzima.
"Automobili desetljećima postaju sve širi i taj će se trend nastaviti sve dok ne postavimo strožu granicu. Trenutačno zakon dopušta da novi automobili budu široki kao kamioni", rekao je James Nix, voditelj politike vozila u Transport & Environment.
"Rezultat su veliki SUV-ovi i kamioneti u stilu američkog pick-upa koji zauzimaju pločnike i ugrožavaju pješake, bicikliste i sve ostale na cesti."
Istraživanje je objavljeno dok se Pariz sprema za glasovanje o povećanju naknada za parkiranje za veće i teže automobile – prvenstveno SUV-ove.
Referendum se održava 4. veljače kako bi se utrostručila cijena parkiranja za ta veća vozila, iako se to ne bi odnosilo na stanovnike Pariza, već na one koji posjećuju to područje.
Dok popularnost SUV-ova i dalje raste, vozila te vrste također su na meti klimatskih aktivista diljem Europe.
Poznata kao Tire Extinguishers, grupa je ispuhala tisuće guma na terenskim vozilima u zapadnoeuropskim gradovima.
Meta im je bilo i zastupništvo Land Rovera u engleskom gradu Exeteru prošlog kolovoza nakon smrti dvoje djece u Wimbledonu kada je Land Rover probio ogradu i završio na školskom terenu.

Otprilike polovica svih novih automobila preširoka je za standardno parkirno mjesto u europskim gradovima, prema novoj studiji, objavljenoj u trenutku kad se poziva da se preokrene trend kupovanja terenaca i većih vozila.
Prema organizaciji Transport & Environment prosječni novi automobil svake dvije godine postaje širi za jedan centimetar. Standardna širina automobila sada je 180,3 cm prema njihovom istraživanju, što je porast u odnosu na 177,8 cm u 2018.
Organizacija kaže da su od 100 najpopularnijih automobila u Europi 52 preširoka za standardno parkirno mjesto na ulici od 180 cm u velikim gradovima kao što su London, Pariz i Rim.
Također se kaže da sve veći broj velikih SUV vozila "ostavlja premalo prostora za ulazak i izlazak putnika iz vozila" u garažama i parkinzima.
"Automobili desetljećima postaju sve širi i taj će se trend nastaviti sve dok ne postavimo strožu granicu. Trenutačno zakon dopušta da novi automobili budu široki kao kamioni", rekao je James Nix, voditelj politike vozila u Transport & Environment.
"Rezultat su veliki SUV-ovi i kamioneti u stilu američkog pick-upa koji zauzimaju pločnike i ugrožavaju pješake, bicikliste i sve ostale na cesti."
Istraživanje je objavljeno dok se Pariz sprema za glasovanje o povećanju naknada za parkiranje za veće i teže automobile – prvenstveno SUV-ove.
Referendum se održava 4. veljače kako bi se utrostručila cijena parkiranja za ta veća vozila, iako se to ne bi odnosilo na stanovnike Pariza, već na one koji posjećuju to područje.
Dok popularnost SUV-ova i dalje raste, vozila te vrste također su na meti klimatskih aktivista diljem Europe.
Poznata kao Tire Extinguishers, grupa je ispuhala tisuće guma na terenskim vozilima u zapadnoeuropskim gradovima.
Meta im je bilo i zastupništvo Land Rovera u engleskom gradu Exeteru prošlog kolovoza nakon smrti dvoje djece u Wimbledonu kada je Land Rover probio ogradu i završio na školskom terenu.
