Umjetnici, vidjeli smo to više puta, imaju taj magični ključ kojim povremeno otvore vrata jedne skroz druge zbilje, rijetko kad bez ikakvog odnosa s ovom koju gledamo svaki dan. Nekad jednostavno otvore vrata galerije, a nekad bogme i cijeli jedan kvart ili kotar.

Sjetite se samo splitskih izdanja s Adria Art Annaleom, s Almissom u Omišu, Art park Zagreba i sličnih stvari. Na takav jedan preobražajni fenomen osvrnut će se izložba "Drugi grad – izbor radova splitskih i dubrovačkih suvremenih umjetnika/-ca", koja će biti otvorena u subotu, 7. studenoga u Umjetničkoj galeriji Dubrovnik, a predstavlja zajednički projekt dubrovačke galerije s Galerijom umjetnina iz Splita.

Projekt dubrovačkih i splitskih umjetnika nije slučajno zajednički, problemi gradova u kojima žive zaokruženi su istim podskupom na zemljopisnoj i gospodarskoj karti, crvenim terenom galopirajućeg turizma koji ih pretvara u destinacije, mjesta za jednokratnu upotrebu, suvenirnice i kulise skupih produkcija, poput planetarno popularne serije "Igra prijestolja". Jedan takav drugi grad je grad o kojemu umjetnici uvijek imaju što reći, pogotovo onda kada lokalne i državne institucije šute.

TRI SPLITSKE GENERACIJE

Obezvrijeđenost javnog prostora, apartmanizacija, betonizacija i utrka za novcem dio su podskupa izokrenutih vrijednosti s patološkim učinkom na društveno-socijalne trendove kakve predstavljaju zbjegovi domaćeg stanovništva u zadnje oaze humaniteta, izvan dohvata turističke stihije.

Umjetnici s komentarom "Drugog grada" su: Gildo Bavčević, Valentino Bilić Prcić, Duška Boban, Pasko Burđelez, Viktor Daldon, Tanja Deman, Ivana Dražić Selmani, Rino Efendić, Marko Ercegović, Tina Gverović, Ivana Jelavić, Ana Kuzmanić, Toni Meštrović, Ana Opalić, Ivana Pegan Baće, Vedran Perkov, Luko Piplica, Boris Poljak, Viktor Popović, Ana Požar Piplica, Kristina Restović, Neli Ružić, Lana Stojićević, Slaven Tolj i Ivona Vlašić.

Splitsku "grupu" čine autori koji su svojim radom već koncem 1980-ih počeli promišljati svoje okruženje, zatim oni koji su povratkom u Split ranih 2000-ih kroz umjetnički i pedagoški rad utjecali na splitsku scenu, stavljajući je u odnos s pojavama u suvremenoj umjetnosti ostatka države i šire te naposljetku najmlađa stvaralačka generacija, diplomanti splitske umjetničke akademije koji su radom vezani uz Split. Njihova medijska, formalna i konceptualna raznovrsnost svjedoči o nepostojanju dominantne struje, što omogućava mogućnost slojevitog iščitavanja, kako života grada, tako i prakse njegovih umjetnika.

Dubrovački umjetnici, pak, mahom pripadaju srednjoj generaciji koja se formirala u gravitacijskom polju Art radionice Lazareti, osnovane 1988., koja je inovativnim umjetničkim praksama, izlaganjem u javnim prostorima i gostovanjem velikog broja različitih međunarodnih i nacionalnih vizualnih umjetnika, redatelja, glazbenika i teoretičara uvelike utjecala na razvoj suvremene umjetnosti u Dubrovniku. Iako dobar dio njih više i ne živi u Dubrovniku, svojom su umjetničkom praksom i dalje vezani uz Grad i njegove probleme, aktivno komunicirajući s okruženjem, najčešće u mediju fotografije, videoradova i instalacija.

Izložba u Umjetničkoj galeriji Dubrovnik ostaje otvorena do 6. prosinca i potpisuje je kustosica Rozana Vojvoda, a u Splitu se u Galeriji umjetnina otvara 15. prosinca pod paskom kustosice Jasminke Babić.

Umjetnici, vidjeli smo to više puta, imaju taj magični ključ kojim povremeno otvore vrata jedne skroz druge zbilje, rijetko kad bez ikakvog odnosa s ovom koju gledamo svaki dan. Nekad jednostavno otvore vrata galerije, a nekad bogme i cijeli jedan kvart ili kotar.

Sjetite se samo splitskih izdanja s Adria Art Annaleom, s Almissom u Omišu, Art park Zagreba i sličnih stvari. Na takav jedan preobražajni fenomen osvrnut će se izložba "Drugi grad – izbor radova splitskih i dubrovačkih suvremenih umjetnika/-ca", koja će biti otvorena u subotu, 7. studenoga u Umjetničkoj galeriji Dubrovnik, a predstavlja zajednički projekt dubrovačke galerije s Galerijom umjetnina iz Splita.

Projekt dubrovačkih i splitskih umjetnika nije slučajno zajednički, problemi gradova u kojima žive zaokruženi su istim podskupom na zemljopisnoj i gospodarskoj karti, crvenim terenom galopirajućeg turizma koji ih pretvara u destinacije, mjesta za jednokratnu upotrebu, suvenirnice i kulise skupih produkcija, poput planetarno popularne serije "Igra prijestolja". Jedan takav drugi grad je grad o kojemu umjetnici uvijek imaju što reći, pogotovo onda kada lokalne i državne institucije šute.

TRI SPLITSKE GENERACIJE

Obezvrijeđenost javnog prostora, apartmanizacija, betonizacija i utrka za novcem dio su podskupa izokrenutih vrijednosti s patološkim učinkom na društveno-socijalne trendove kakve predstavljaju zbjegovi domaćeg stanovništva u zadnje oaze humaniteta, izvan dohvata turističke stihije.

Umjetnici s komentarom "Drugog grada" su: Gildo Bavčević, Valentino Bilić Prcić, Duška Boban, Pasko Burđelez, Viktor Daldon, Tanja Deman, Ivana Dražić Selmani, Rino Efendić, Marko Ercegović, Tina Gverović, Ivana Jelavić, Ana Kuzmanić, Toni Meštrović, Ana Opalić, Ivana Pegan Baće, Vedran Perkov, Luko Piplica, Boris Poljak, Viktor Popović, Ana Požar Piplica, Kristina Restović, Neli Ružić, Lana Stojićević, Slaven Tolj i Ivona Vlašić.

Splitsku "grupu" čine autori koji su svojim radom već koncem 1980-ih počeli promišljati svoje okruženje, zatim oni koji su povratkom u Split ranih 2000-ih kroz umjetnički i pedagoški rad utjecali na splitsku scenu, stavljajući je u odnos s pojavama u suvremenoj umjetnosti ostatka države i šire te naposljetku najmlađa stvaralačka generacija, diplomanti splitske umjetničke akademije koji su radom vezani uz Split. Njihova medijska, formalna i konceptualna raznovrsnost svjedoči o nepostojanju dominantne struje, što omogućava mogućnost slojevitog iščitavanja, kako života grada, tako i prakse njegovih umjetnika.

Dubrovački umjetnici, pak, mahom pripadaju srednjoj generaciji koja se formirala u gravitacijskom polju Art radionice Lazareti, osnovane 1988., koja je inovativnim umjetničkim praksama, izlaganjem u javnim prostorima i gostovanjem velikog broja različitih međunarodnih i nacionalnih vizualnih umjetnika, redatelja, glazbenika i teoretičara uvelike utjecala na razvoj suvremene umjetnosti u Dubrovniku. Iako dobar dio njih više i ne živi u Dubrovniku, svojom su umjetničkom praksom i dalje vezani uz Grad i njegove probleme, aktivno komunicirajući s okruženjem, najčešće u mediju fotografije, videoradova i instalacija.

Izložba u Umjetničkoj galeriji Dubrovnik ostaje otvorena do 6. prosinca i potpisuje je kustosica Rozana Vojvoda, a u Splitu se u Galeriji umjetnina otvara 15. prosinca pod paskom kustosice Jasminke Babić.
