Voda se iz polja Rastok, smještenog na granici Hrvatske i BiH, povukla u korito Matice, a vrijedni vrgorski poljoprivrednici s prvim zrakama sunca krenuli su do svojih plastenika i jagoda.
Težak je to i mukotrpan posao, svima drag srcu i mio kad se u lipnju broji novac od uroda, ali dug je put do toga. Puno puta prije toga treba doći u polje i čizme obuti, mnogi su protekle godine grintali diljem Hrvatske kad su vidjeli na zelenim tržnicama da se vrgorske jagode prodaju po cijeni od 35 do 50 kuna za kilogram.
Neki su se i pitali: "Od čega su te jagode? Zar su od zlata?!" Kao i u većini slučajeva u Hrvatskoj najveće "maslo" i zaradu pokupe prekupci, koji na dalmatinskim poljima u srcu sezone slasne plodove kupe za 20 kuna po kilogramu i prodaju je po zlato, na splitskom Pazaru, zagrebečkom Docu...
Ta prosječna otkupna cijena bila je aktualna tijekom posljednje dvije godine, no ranije je bila znatno manja, spuštala se i do 12-13 kuna po kilogramu. Koronavirus je mnoge obitelji zavio u crno, ali vrgorskim jagodarima donio je dvije najbolje poslovne godine unutar vjerovatno posljednja dva desetljeća.
Jednostavno, dozirao se uvoz, a kupci su se više okrenuli domaćoj proizvodnji. Koliko je bila alarmantna i teška predpandemijska situacija u poljima jagoda možda najbolje govori podatak da su mnogi poljoprivrednici počeli to voće mijenjati za vinovu lozu, a broj proizvođača pao je sa 150 na njih ispod 100.
Nekoliko razloga dovelo je do toga, ali prije svega proizvodnja na rubu rentabilnosti, zatim odlazak mladih trbuhom za kruhom po bijelom svijetu. Voda je bila došla do grla, dosta ih je napustilo svoju zemlju i obiteljska gospodarstva i u nadi za boljim životom otišlo preko granice, put Irske i Njemačke.
Međutim, situacija se stabilizirala tijekom posljednje dvije godine, isključivo zbog otkupne cijene, a kakva će biti ova godine nitko ne zna. Jedan od onih koji je odlučio ostati na svojoj djedovini i zasnovati obitelj u Orahu, mjestu iz kojeg krenula priča o jagodi u ovom kraju, je Mate Vujčić.
Zajedno s ocem Antom neumorno iz godine u godine obnavlja nasade i podiže plastenike, jer od toga isključivo žive.
- Ove godine krenuli smo ranije u natkrivanje sadnica, jer je vrijeme baš pogodno za to, moramo to iskoristiti. Kakva će biti sezona?
Nadam se dobra, ali bojim se da će i jagode malo poskupjeti. Sve je otišlo gore, prošlih godina za podignuti jedan plastenik od 10 tisuća sadnica trebalo nam je oko 41 tisuću kuna, a ove godine za to treba 74 tisuće kuna, što je gotovo 70 posto više - objašnjava Vujčić koji naglašava kako su dušična gnojiva jedan od najvećih problema.
- Poskupjela su za 150 posto, a željezna konstrukcija za plastenike za 100 posto. Nadam se da će taj trend pratiti i otkupna cijena jagoda, inače ćemo biti prisiljeni smanjiti proizvodnju, a neki kolege će je, bojim se, i ugasiti.
Želio bih napomenuti da je kod nas proizvodnja jagoda doslovno ručni rad, a to košta - ističe mladi poljoprivrednik.

Voda se iz polja Rastok, smještenog na granici Hrvatske i BiH, povukla u korito Matice, a vrijedni vrgorski poljoprivrednici s prvim zrakama sunca krenuli su do svojih plastenika i jagoda.
Težak je to i mukotrpan posao, svima drag srcu i mio kad se u lipnju broji novac od uroda, ali dug je put do toga. Puno puta prije toga treba doći u polje i čizme obuti, mnogi su protekle godine grintali diljem Hrvatske kad su vidjeli na zelenim tržnicama da se vrgorske jagode prodaju po cijeni od 35 do 50 kuna za kilogram.
Neki su se i pitali: "Od čega su te jagode? Zar su od zlata?!" Kao i u većini slučajeva u Hrvatskoj najveće "maslo" i zaradu pokupe prekupci, koji na dalmatinskim poljima u srcu sezone slasne plodove kupe za 20 kuna po kilogramu i prodaju je po zlato, na splitskom Pazaru, zagrebečkom Docu...
Ta prosječna otkupna cijena bila je aktualna tijekom posljednje dvije godine, no ranije je bila znatno manja, spuštala se i do 12-13 kuna po kilogramu. Koronavirus je mnoge obitelji zavio u crno, ali vrgorskim jagodarima donio je dvije najbolje poslovne godine unutar vjerovatno posljednja dva desetljeća.
Jednostavno, dozirao se uvoz, a kupci su se više okrenuli domaćoj proizvodnji. Koliko je bila alarmantna i teška predpandemijska situacija u poljima jagoda možda najbolje govori podatak da su mnogi poljoprivrednici počeli to voće mijenjati za vinovu lozu, a broj proizvođača pao je sa 150 na njih ispod 100.
Nekoliko razloga dovelo je do toga, ali prije svega proizvodnja na rubu rentabilnosti, zatim odlazak mladih trbuhom za kruhom po bijelom svijetu. Voda je bila došla do grla, dosta ih je napustilo svoju zemlju i obiteljska gospodarstva i u nadi za boljim životom otišlo preko granice, put Irske i Njemačke.
Međutim, situacija se stabilizirala tijekom posljednje dvije godine, isključivo zbog otkupne cijene, a kakva će biti ova godine nitko ne zna. Jedan od onih koji je odlučio ostati na svojoj djedovini i zasnovati obitelj u Orahu, mjestu iz kojeg krenula priča o jagodi u ovom kraju, je Mate Vujčić.
Zajedno s ocem Antom neumorno iz godine u godine obnavlja nasade i podiže plastenike, jer od toga isključivo žive.
- Ove godine krenuli smo ranije u natkrivanje sadnica, jer je vrijeme baš pogodno za to, moramo to iskoristiti. Kakva će biti sezona?
Nadam se dobra, ali bojim se da će i jagode malo poskupjeti. Sve je otišlo gore, prošlih godina za podignuti jedan plastenik od 10 tisuća sadnica trebalo nam je oko 41 tisuću kuna, a ove godine za to treba 74 tisuće kuna, što je gotovo 70 posto više - objašnjava Vujčić koji naglašava kako su dušična gnojiva jedan od najvećih problema.
- Poskupjela su za 150 posto, a željezna konstrukcija za plastenike za 100 posto. Nadam se da će taj trend pratiti i otkupna cijena jagoda, inače ćemo biti prisiljeni smanjiti proizvodnju, a neki kolege će je, bojim se, i ugasiti.
Želio bih napomenuti da je kod nas proizvodnja jagoda doslovno ručni rad, a to košta - ističe mladi poljoprivrednik.
