Danas su u Veloj Luci mještani svjedočili neobičnom događaju. U mandrać u centar mjesta zalutao je divovski morski stvor. Kako doznajemo, radi se o velikom lignjunu, a ovaj veloluški totan, ili totanj kako ga na otoku nazivaju, dug je gotovo jedan metar i težak nešto manje od šest kilograma.

Da je totanj izazvao iznenađenje i odušeljvenje Velolučana potvrdio nam je i Nikola Žuvela Doda, 34-godišnji veloluški zaljubljenik u more koji je vodio akciju spašavanja divovske lignje.

„Svako se jutro spustim u valu prošetat, inače se ujutro lokalni ribari prošetaju uz rivu, bacimo oko je li prošla koja riba, ima li koja hobotnica i slično. Odmah sam vidio da se u mandraću u centra mjesta skupilo dosta ljudi, potrčao sam vidjeti što se događa. Kad ono totanj, odmah sam ga prepoznao, po mojoj procjeni dug gotovo metar, a težak između pet i pol i šest kila“, ispričao nam je Nikola.

Totanj je, priča nam Nikola, bio dezorijentiran, izgubljeno se kretao naprijed, nazad, tukao je u rivu i obližnje barke. Izvadili su ga na rivu kako bi provjerili je li ozlijeđen, a njegova veličina i rijetkost ponukala je Velolučane da snime brojne fotografije i videa. Budući da je totanj bio u dobrom stanju, Nikola ga je premjestio u janku i odnio na drugi kraj rive, kraj pumpne stanice gdje je more dublje. Kako je bio ošamućen, trebalo mu je malo poticaja, kaže Nikola, hrabrili su ga da krene nazad u dubinu gdje pripada, što je totanj naposlijetku i napravio.

„Svi ljudi koji su se skupili na rivi rekli su mi da ga nikad nisu vidjeli uživo, bili smo jako uzbuđeni. Jestiv je, ali njegovo je meso dosta tvrđe nego obične lignje. To je inače životinja koja živi u dubinama, ne dolazi često u plićak i može biti jako velika“, priča nam Nikola.

To je potvrdio i Vladimir Onofri iz dubrovačkog Insitituta za more i priobalje. Doktor znanosti Onofri ističe kako totanj rijetko kad dopliva iz dubokog Jadrana u plitko, ali zna se ponekad dogoditi i taj slučaj i to ne ljeti, već u ovo zimsko vrijeme kad nema velike temperaturne razlike mora. Totanj treba vratiti nazad u dubinu, a za Nikolu to nije bilo upitno.
„Ja sam sportski ribolovac, kadgod imam slobodnog vremena idem na more, lovim lignje, bacim parangal, volim sve što je vezano uz more i imam sve dozvole. Inače manju ribu vraćam u more, a to radim i s ovakvim jedinstvenim primjercima. Ima jedna poslovica, more ti uvik vrati, neka živi beštija, a ja se nadam da će mi more vratit, da će mi se posrićit i da ću donit doma neki ulov koji će me razveseliti“, poželio je Nikola.

Danas su u Veloj Luci mještani svjedočili neobičnom događaju. U mandrać u centar mjesta zalutao je divovski morski stvor. Kako doznajemo, radi se o velikom lignjunu, a ovaj veloluški totan, ili totanj kako ga na otoku nazivaju, dug je gotovo jedan metar i težak nešto manje od šest kilograma.

Da je totanj izazvao iznenađenje i odušeljvenje Velolučana potvrdio nam je i Nikola Žuvela Doda, 34-godišnji veloluški zaljubljenik u more koji je vodio akciju spašavanja divovske lignje.

„Svako se jutro spustim u valu prošetat, inače se ujutro lokalni ribari prošetaju uz rivu, bacimo oko je li prošla koja riba, ima li koja hobotnica i slično. Odmah sam vidio da se u mandraću u centra mjesta skupilo dosta ljudi, potrčao sam vidjeti što se događa. Kad ono totanj, odmah sam ga prepoznao, po mojoj procjeni dug gotovo metar, a težak između pet i pol i šest kila“, ispričao nam je Nikola.

Totanj je, priča nam Nikola, bio dezorijentiran, izgubljeno se kretao naprijed, nazad, tukao je u rivu i obližnje barke. Izvadili su ga na rivu kako bi provjerili je li ozlijeđen, a njegova veličina i rijetkost ponukala je Velolučane da snime brojne fotografije i videa. Budući da je totanj bio u dobrom stanju, Nikola ga je premjestio u janku i odnio na drugi kraj rive, kraj pumpne stanice gdje je more dublje. Kako je bio ošamućen, trebalo mu je malo poticaja, kaže Nikola, hrabrili su ga da krene nazad u dubinu gdje pripada, što je totanj naposlijetku i napravio.

„Svi ljudi koji su se skupili na rivi rekli su mi da ga nikad nisu vidjeli uživo, bili smo jako uzbuđeni. Jestiv je, ali njegovo je meso dosta tvrđe nego obične lignje. To je inače životinja koja živi u dubinama, ne dolazi često u plićak i može biti jako velika“, priča nam Nikola.

To je potvrdio i Vladimir Onofri iz dubrovačkog Insitituta za more i priobalje. Doktor znanosti Onofri ističe kako totanj rijetko kad dopliva iz dubokog Jadrana u plitko, ali zna se ponekad dogoditi i taj slučaj i to ne ljeti, već u ovo zimsko vrijeme kad nema velike temperaturne razlike mora. Totanj treba vratiti nazad u dubinu, a za Nikolu to nije bilo upitno.
„Ja sam sportski ribolovac, kadgod imam slobodnog vremena idem na more, lovim lignje, bacim parangal, volim sve što je vezano uz more i imam sve dozvole. Inače manju ribu vraćam u more, a to radim i s ovakvim jedinstvenim primjercima. Ima jedna poslovica, more ti uvik vrati, neka živi beštija, a ja se nadam da će mi more vratit, da će mi se posrićit i da ću donit doma neki ulov koji će me razveseliti“, poželio je Nikola.
