Ovaj je ponedjeljak bio najtopliji dan ikada zabilježen jer je globalna prosječna temperatura po prvi puta premašila 17 stupnjeva Celzijevih, prema mjerenjima američkih znanstvenika, piše The Times,  prenosi Jutarnji list.

Prosječna dnevna temperatura zraka na površini planeta 3. srpnja bila je 17,01 stupanj Celzijev. Izmjerila je to američka Nacionalna uprava za oceane i atmosferu.

Premašilo je to prijašnji rekord od 16,92 C od 24. srpnja prošle godine. Prosječna svjetska temperatura zraka, koja obično varira između 12 i nešto ispod 17 stupnjeva svakog dana u godini, iznosila je u prosjeku 16,2 stupnjeva početkom srpnja od 1979. godine otkad ta mjerenja postoje, i 2000. godine.

Novi rekord je tek potrebno potvrditi drugim mjerenjima, no on bi uskoro mogao biti ponovno oboren nakon što na sjevernoj hemisferi počne ljeto.

Prosječna globalna temperatura obično nastavlja rasti do kraja srpnja ili početka kolovoza. U mnogim regijama diljem svijeta sada vladaju vrućine i ekstremne vremenske nepogode. Tako su temperature u Kini došle do 35 stupnjeva, a zemlje sjeverne Afrike iskusile su vrućinu od čak 50 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Toplinski valovi u SAD-u doveli su do nekoliko smrtnih slučajeva u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana, kada su temperature prelazile 43 stupnja.

Ove godine je zabilježen i najtopliji lipanj ikada u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, s prosječnom temperaturom od 15,8 stupnjeva, što je nadmašilo prijašnje rekorde iz 1940. i 1976. godine.

Čak su i na Antarktiku, gdje je trenutno zima, zabilježene visoke temperature.

- Ovo nije prekretnica koju bismo trebali slaviti. To je smrtna presuda za ljude i ekosustave, rekla je Friederike Otto, klimatska znanstvenica s Instituta Grantham za klimatske promjene i okoliš na Imperial Collegeu u Londonu.

Na jugozapadu Kine je u jakim pljuskovima i poplavama poginulo najmanje osoba, a četiri se smatraju nestalima. Smrtni slučajevi su zabilježeni od ponedjeljka, kada su jake kiše pogodile tu regiju. Nizozemsku je također ovoga tjedna pogodila najjača do sada zabilježena ljetna oluja. Jedna je osoba poginula, a međuanrodni zračni i željeznički promet bio je u kaosu.

Zračna luka Schiphol u Amsterdamu, jedno od najprometnijih europskih čvorišta, otkazala je čak 400 letova, dok su Eurostarovi vlakovi za London i neke njemačke gradove također otkazani. Jedna je žena (51) poginula kada je stablo palo na njezin automobil u gradu Haarlemu blizu Amsterdama, a autoceste su također bile blokirane srušenim stablima i prevrnutim kamionima.

Izvanredno stanje proglašeno je i na dalekom istoku Rusije, gdje su se širili ljetni požari zbog jake vrućine i grmljavinske oluje.

Znanstvenici kažu da su klimatske promjene u kombinaciji s pojavom El Nina krive za novi prosječni dnevni temperaturni rekord.

- Nažalost, čini se da je ovo samo prvi u nizu novih rekorda ove godine jer rastuće emisije ugljičnog dioksida i stakleničkih plinova zajedno s El Ninom podižu temperature na nove vrhunce, kaže Zeke Hausfather, znanstveni istraživač s Berkleya.

- To se događa posvuda. Ovi će se rekordi samo nastaviti rušiti i sada je vrijeme da im pristupimo s hitnošću kako bismo bili sigurni da idemo prema rješenjima i odgovorima koji imaju smisla za sve, kaže Kathryn Bowen, zamjenica direktora Melbourne Climate Futures.

Vjerojatno je da će temperature porasti još više iznad povijesnih prosjeka tijekom sljedeće godine, s povratkom fenomena El Nino u Tihi ocean. Svjetska meteorološka organizacija (WMO) je u utorak potvrdila da je povratak El Nina upravo u tijeku.

- Pojava El Nina će uvelike povećati vjerojatnost rušenja temperaturnih rekorda i izazivanja ekstremnih vrućina u mnogim dijelovima svijeta te u oceanima, rekao je glavni tajnik WMO-a Petteri Taalas i dodao da su rana upozorenja od velike važnosti za spašavanje života.

WMO je rekao da sada postoji 90 posto vjerojatnosti da će El Nino potrajati u drugoj polovici 2023. godine te da će biti barem umjerene jačine.

Tijekom El Nina temperatura određenog područja središnjeg i istočnog Pacifika raste. To pomaže u stvaranju oblaka i padalina na tom području, umjesto nad Australijom, što može dovesti do sušnijih uvjeta i suše u zemlji, donosi Jutarnji list.

Ovaj je ponedjeljak bio najtopliji dan ikada zabilježen jer je globalna prosječna temperatura po prvi puta premašila 17 stupnjeva Celzijevih, prema mjerenjima američkih znanstvenika, piše The Times,  prenosi Jutarnji list.

Prosječna dnevna temperatura zraka na površini planeta 3. srpnja bila je 17,01 stupanj Celzijev. Izmjerila je to američka Nacionalna uprava za oceane i atmosferu.

Premašilo je to prijašnji rekord od 16,92 C od 24. srpnja prošle godine. Prosječna svjetska temperatura zraka, koja obično varira između 12 i nešto ispod 17 stupnjeva svakog dana u godini, iznosila je u prosjeku 16,2 stupnjeva početkom srpnja od 1979. godine otkad ta mjerenja postoje, i 2000. godine.

Novi rekord je tek potrebno potvrditi drugim mjerenjima, no on bi uskoro mogao biti ponovno oboren nakon što na sjevernoj hemisferi počne ljeto.

Prosječna globalna temperatura obično nastavlja rasti do kraja srpnja ili početka kolovoza. U mnogim regijama diljem svijeta sada vladaju vrućine i ekstremne vremenske nepogode. Tako su temperature u Kini došle do 35 stupnjeva, a zemlje sjeverne Afrike iskusile su vrućinu od čak 50 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Toplinski valovi u SAD-u doveli su do nekoliko smrtnih slučajeva u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana, kada su temperature prelazile 43 stupnja.

Ove godine je zabilježen i najtopliji lipanj ikada u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, s prosječnom temperaturom od 15,8 stupnjeva, što je nadmašilo prijašnje rekorde iz 1940. i 1976. godine.

Čak su i na Antarktiku, gdje je trenutno zima, zabilježene visoke temperature.

- Ovo nije prekretnica koju bismo trebali slaviti. To je smrtna presuda za ljude i ekosustave, rekla je Friederike Otto, klimatska znanstvenica s Instituta Grantham za klimatske promjene i okoliš na Imperial Collegeu u Londonu.

Na jugozapadu Kine je u jakim pljuskovima i poplavama poginulo najmanje osoba, a četiri se smatraju nestalima. Smrtni slučajevi su zabilježeni od ponedjeljka, kada su jake kiše pogodile tu regiju. Nizozemsku je također ovoga tjedna pogodila najjača do sada zabilježena ljetna oluja. Jedna je osoba poginula, a međuanrodni zračni i željeznički promet bio je u kaosu.

Zračna luka Schiphol u Amsterdamu, jedno od najprometnijih europskih čvorišta, otkazala je čak 400 letova, dok su Eurostarovi vlakovi za London i neke njemačke gradove također otkazani. Jedna je žena (51) poginula kada je stablo palo na njezin automobil u gradu Haarlemu blizu Amsterdama, a autoceste su također bile blokirane srušenim stablima i prevrnutim kamionima.

Izvanredno stanje proglašeno je i na dalekom istoku Rusije, gdje su se širili ljetni požari zbog jake vrućine i grmljavinske oluje.

Znanstvenici kažu da su klimatske promjene u kombinaciji s pojavom El Nina krive za novi prosječni dnevni temperaturni rekord.

- Nažalost, čini se da je ovo samo prvi u nizu novih rekorda ove godine jer rastuće emisije ugljičnog dioksida i stakleničkih plinova zajedno s El Ninom podižu temperature na nove vrhunce, kaže Zeke Hausfather, znanstveni istraživač s Berkleya.

- To se događa posvuda. Ovi će se rekordi samo nastaviti rušiti i sada je vrijeme da im pristupimo s hitnošću kako bismo bili sigurni da idemo prema rješenjima i odgovorima koji imaju smisla za sve, kaže Kathryn Bowen, zamjenica direktora Melbourne Climate Futures.

Vjerojatno je da će temperature porasti još više iznad povijesnih prosjeka tijekom sljedeće godine, s povratkom fenomena El Nino u Tihi ocean. Svjetska meteorološka organizacija (WMO) je u utorak potvrdila da je povratak El Nina upravo u tijeku.

- Pojava El Nina će uvelike povećati vjerojatnost rušenja temperaturnih rekorda i izazivanja ekstremnih vrućina u mnogim dijelovima svijeta te u oceanima, rekao je glavni tajnik WMO-a Petteri Taalas i dodao da su rana upozorenja od velike važnosti za spašavanje života.

WMO je rekao da sada postoji 90 posto vjerojatnosti da će El Nino potrajati u drugoj polovici 2023. godine te da će biti barem umjerene jačine.

Tijekom El Nina temperatura određenog područja središnjeg i istočnog Pacifika raste. To pomaže u stvaranju oblaka i padalina na tom području, umjesto nad Australijom, što može dovesti do sušnijih uvjeta i suše u zemlji, donosi Jutarnji list.
