Petak 13., smatra se nesretnim danom u tradiciji zapadnog praznovjerja. Strah od broja 13 naziva se triskaidekafobija, dok se strah od petka 13. naziva paraskevidekatriaphobia.
Neki ljudi toliko strahuju da će im se nešto loše desiti na petak 13. da ne žele izaći iz kuće, čak izostaju s posla. Drugi tog dana izbjegavaju donositi bilo kakve odluke jer ne žele kasnije biti krivi ako se dogodi nešto loše. Oni koji čekaju plaću žive u strahu hoće li poslodavac možda ipak zbog praznovjerja prekočiti uplatu na petak 13., pa će ona stići ipak tek 16. u mjesecu.
Većina nebodera u svijetu nema 13 kat. Njega se najčešće nazove ’12A’. Mnogi hoteli i bolnice nemaju sobu s brojem 13. Filmska franšiza ‘Petak 13.’ sastoji se od 12 filmova, s tim da je posljednji film remake prvog. Možda su se i sami autori franšize bojali 13. filma. Procjenjuje se da zrakoplovne tvrtke najviše pate od petka 13. jer mnogi izbjegavaju putovanja upravo toga dana. Oni koji nisu praznovjerni i odluče ipak putovati na datum petak 13. uštedjet će novac jer toga dana zrakoplovne kompanije uglavnom imaju jeftinije karte nego dan prije ili dan poslije.
Prema statističkim podacima, SAD toga dana gubi od 800 do 900 milijuna dolara zbog toga što mnogi na petak 13. ne putuju ili ne dolaze na posao.
Na ‘kobni’ petak 13. rođen je Alfred Hitchcok, Fidel Castro, blizanke Mary Kate i Ashley Olsen, Steve Buscemi, Julie Louis Dreyfus, Christopher Plummer…
Jedno od najpopularnijih tumačenja nastanka praznovjerja vezanog uz petak 13. je da je u petak, 13. listopada 1307. godine, francuski kralj Filip IV. Lijepi dao uhititi stotinu templara, što je rezultiralo njihovim progonom, zatvaranjem, suđenjem i pogubljivanjem.
Drugo objašnjenje vezuje se iz priču iz Novog zavjeta, koja opisuje da je za vrijeme Isusove posljednje večeri sjedilo za stolom 13 osoba, nakon čega je Isus bio razapet na križu.
Vezano uz Bibliju, prije svega Stari zavjet, postoji vjerovanje kako je Eva upravo na petak 13. pojela jabuku s Drva spoznaje.

Petak 13., smatra se nesretnim danom u tradiciji zapadnog praznovjerja. Strah od broja 13 naziva se triskaidekafobija, dok se strah od petka 13. naziva paraskevidekatriaphobia.
Neki ljudi toliko strahuju da će im se nešto loše desiti na petak 13. da ne žele izaći iz kuće, čak izostaju s posla. Oni koji čekaju plaću žive u strahu hoće li poslodavac možda ipak zbog praznovjerja prekočiti uplatu na petak 13., pa će ona stići ipak tek 16. u mjesecu.
Većina nebodera u svijetu nema 13 kat. Njega se najčešće nazove ’12A’. Mnogi hoteli i bolnice nemaju sobu s brojem 13. Filmska franšiza ‘Petak 13.’ sastoji se od 12 filmova, s tim da je posljednji film remake prvog. Možda su se i sami autori franšize bojali 13. filma. Procjenjuje se da zrakoplovne tvrtke najviše pate od petka 13. jer mnogi izbjegavaju putovanja upravo toga dana. Oni koji nisu praznovjerni i odluče ipak putovati na datum petak 13. uštedjet će novac jer toga dana zrakoplovne kompanije uglavnom imaju jeftinije karte nego dan prije ili dan poslije.
Prema statističkim podacima, SAD toga dana gubi od 800 do 900 milijuna dolara zbog toga što mnogi na petak 13. ne putuju ili ne dolaze na posao.
Na ‘kobni’ petak 13. rođen je Alfred Hitchcok, Fidel Castro, blizanke Mary Kate i Ashley Olsen, Steve Buscemi, Julie Louis Dreyfus, Christopher Plummer…
Jedno od najpopularnijih tumačenja nastanka praznovjerja vezanog uz petak 13. je da je u petak, 13. listopada 1307. godine, francuski kralj Filip IV. Lijepi dao uhititi stotinu templara, što je rezultiralo njihovim progonom, zatvaranjem, suđenjem i pogubljivanjem.
Drugo objašnjenje vezuje se iz priču iz Novog zavjeta, koja opisuje da je za vrijeme Isusove posljednje večeri sjedilo za stolom 13 osoba, nakon čega je Isus bio razapet na križu.
Vezano uz Bibliju, prije svega Stari zavjet, postoji vjerovanje kako je Eva upravo na petak 13. pojela jabuku s Drva spoznaje.
