Italija je u utorak donijela odluku o zabrani uplovljavanja kruzera u venecijansku lagunu kako bi očuvala njezin ekološki sustav i baštinu te je tom odlukom okončala višegodišnje oklijevanje, stavivši zahtjeve stanovnika i kulturnih tijela ispred onih turističke industrije.

Vlada u Rimu odlučila se na taj korak nakon što je organizacija za kulturu UN-a - UNESCO - zaprijetila da će staviti Italiju na crnu listu ukoliko ne zabrani uplovljavanje golemih turističkih brodova u mjesto koje se nalazi na popisu Svjetske baštine.

Odluka stupa na snagu 1. kolovoza te će brodovima koji teže više od 25.000 tona biti zabranjeno uplovljavanje u pličinu kanala Guidecca koji prolazi pored Trga sv. Marka, najpoznatije znamenitosti u Veneciji.

Prag od 25.000 tona znači da će samo maleni putnički trajekti i teretna plovila moći koristiti Guideccu, isključujući sve ostale kruzere koji uobičajeno teže najmanje četiri puta više i dosežu težinu od više od 200.000 tona.

"Ponosan sam što se obećanje održalo", kazao je ministar kulture Dario Franceschini.

Zakon, koji će naštetiti poslovanju tvrtki poput Carnival Cruises, predviđa naknade za uključene tvrtke i radnike, priopćilo je ministarstvo kulture.

Stanovnici Venecije i međunarodna zajednica godinama tvrde da Venecija nema nikakve koristi od velikih kruzera koji pristaju u ovoj popularnoj turističkoj destinaciji te, osim što zagađuju okoliš, posjetitelji koji se iskrcavaju s brodova samo doprinose prenapučenosti povijesnog starog grada lagune, a rijetko ondje troše novac. 

Francesco Galietti, talijanski direktor udruženja međunarodne industrije putničkih brodova za krstarenje CLIA, pozdravio je alternativnu rutu za kruzere i vladinu odluku nazvao "velikim korakom naprijed".

No, još uvijek nema alternativnog mjesta za pristajanje izvan lagune.

U međuvremenu bi veliki brodovi trebali pristajati u industrijsku luku Marghera, no ta luka također nije spremna za prihvat golemih kruzera.

Stanovnici su u lipnju snažno prosvjedovali kada je u MSC Orchestra, brod težak 92.000 tona, prošao kroz lagunu na putu za Hrvatsku i Grčku.

Alessandro Santi, čelnik Federagentija, nacionalnog brodarskog lobija, optužuje vladu da u donošenju odluke nije uzela u obzir sudbinu brojnih zaposlenih u industriji te da ta zabrana neće riješiti probleme Venecije kao grada".

Italija je u utorak donijela odluku o zabrani uplovljavanja kruzera u venecijansku lagunu kako bi očuvala njezin ekološki sustav i baštinu te je tom odlukom okončala višegodišnje oklijevanje, stavivši zahtjeve stanovnika i kulturnih tijela ispred onih turističke industrije.

Vlada u Rimu odlučila se na taj korak nakon što je organizacija za kulturu UN-a - UNESCO - zaprijetila da će staviti Italiju na crnu listu ukoliko ne zabrani uplovljavanje golemih turističkih brodova u mjesto koje se nalazi na popisu Svjetske baštine.

Odluka stupa na snagu 1. kolovoza te će brodovima koji teže više od 25.000 tona biti zabranjeno uplovljavanje u pličinu kanala Guidecca koji prolazi pored Trga sv. Marka, najpoznatije znamenitosti u Veneciji.

Prag od 25.000 tona znači da će samo maleni putnički trajekti i teretna plovila moći koristiti Guideccu, isključujući sve ostale kruzere koji uobičajeno teže najmanje četiri puta više i dosežu težinu od više od 200.000 tona.

"Ponosan sam što se obećanje održalo", kazao je ministar kulture Dario Franceschini.

Zakon, koji će naštetiti poslovanju tvrtki poput Carnival Cruises, predviđa naknade za uključene tvrtke i radnike, priopćilo je ministarstvo kulture.

Stanovnici Venecije i međunarodna zajednica godinama tvrde da Venecija nema nikakve koristi od velikih kruzera koji pristaju u ovoj popularnoj turističkoj destinaciji te, osim što zagađuju okoliš, posjetitelji koji se iskrcavaju s brodova samo doprinose prenapučenosti povijesnog starog grada lagune, a rijetko ondje troše novac. 

Francesco Galietti, talijanski direktor udruženja međunarodne industrije putničkih brodova za krstarenje CLIA, pozdravio je alternativnu rutu za kruzere i vladinu odluku nazvao "velikim korakom naprijed".

No, još uvijek nema alternativnog mjesta za pristajanje izvan lagune.

U međuvremenu bi veliki brodovi trebali pristajati u industrijsku luku Marghera, no ta luka također nije spremna za prihvat golemih kruzera.

Italija je u utorak donijela odluku o zabrani uplovljavanja kruzera u venecijansku lagunu kako bi očuvala njezin ekološki sustav i baštinu te je tom odlukom okončala višegodišnje oklijevanje, stavivši zahtjeve stanovnika i kulturnih tijela ispred onih turističke industrije.

Vlada u Rimu odlučila se na taj korak nakon što je organizacija za kulturu UN-a - UNESCO - zaprijetila da će staviti Italiju na crnu listu ukoliko ne zabrani uplovljavanje golemih turističkih brodova u mjesto koje se nalazi na popisu Svjetske baštine.

Odluka stupa na snagu 1. kolovoza te će brodovima koji teže više od 25.000 tona biti zabranjeno uplovljavanje u pličinu kanala Guidecca koji prolazi pored Trga sv. Marka, najpoznatije znamenitosti u Veneciji.

Prag od 25.000 tona znači da će samo maleni putnički trajekti i teretna plovila moći koristiti Guideccu, isključujući sve ostale kruzere koji uobičajeno teže najmanje četiri puta više i dosežu težinu od više od 200.000 tona.

"Ponosan sam što se obećanje održalo", kazao je ministar kulture Dario Franceschini.

Zakon, koji će naštetiti poslovanju tvrtki poput Carnival Cruises, predviđa naknade za uključene tvrtke i radnike, priopćilo je ministarstvo kulture.

Stanovnici Venecije i međunarodna zajednica godinama tvrde da Venecija nema nikakve koristi od velikih kruzera koji pristaju u ovoj popularnoj turističkoj destinaciji te, osim što zagađuju okoliš, posjetitelji koji se iskrcavaju s brodova samo doprinose prenapučenosti povijesnog starog grada lagune, a rijetko ondje troše novac. 

Francesco Galietti, talijanski direktor udruženja međunarodne industrije putničkih brodova za krstarenje CLIA, pozdravio je alternativnu rutu za kruzere i vladinu odluku nazvao "velikim korakom naprijed".

No, još uvijek nema alternativnog mjesta za pristajanje izvan lagune.

U međuvremenu bi veliki brodovi trebali pristajati u industrijsku luku Marghera, no ta luka također nije spremna za prihvat golemih kruzera.
