Blizanci su rođeni u američkoj državi Tennessee iz embrija zamrznutih prije više od 30 godina, prenio je BBC.
Vjeruje se da je to novi rekord za najduže zamrznute embrije koji su rezultirali živorođenom djecom.
Pohranjeni su na minus 128C u tekućem dušiku 22. travnja 1992.


Rachel Ridgeway, majka četvero djece iz Oregona, blizance je rodila 31. listopada ove godine. Otac, Philip Ridgeway, rekao je da je to bilo "zapanjujuće".


Blizanci Lydia Ann i Timothy Ronald Ridgeway vjerojatno predstavljaju novi rekord, prema Nacionalnom centru za donaciju embrija (NEDC), privatnoj vjerskoj organizaciji koja kaže da je pomogla rođenju više od 1200 djece iz doniranih embrija.


Prethodna rekorderka NEDC-a, Molly Gibson, rođena je 2020. iz embrija koji je bio zamrznut gotovo 27 godina na gotovo 200 stupnjeva ispod nule.


"Odluka o usvajanju tih embrija trebala bi umiriti pacijente koji se pitaju bi li itko bio voljan usvojiti embrije koje su stvorili prije 5, 10, 20 godina", rekao je dr. John David Gordon, koji je izvršio prijenos embrija.

Embriji blizanaca stvoreni su za anonimni bračni par pomoću umjetne oplodnje. Muškarac je bio u svojim 50-ima, a darivateljica jajnih stanica imala je 34 godine. Držali su ih u komori u laboratoriju za plodnost na zapadnoj obali SAD-a do 2007. kada ih je par donirao NEDC-u u Knoxvilleu, Tennessee kako bi ih umjesto njih koristio drugi par.


Embriolozi u NEDC-ovoj partnerskoj klinici Southeastern Fertility izveli su odmrzavanje i prijenos u maternicu ranije ove godine.
U priopćenju, NEDC je rekao kako se nada da će ova vijest "ohrabriti druge da i sami iskuse blagoslove usvajanja embrija".


To je prvo dijete koje su Ridgewayevi, koji imaju još četvero djece u dobi od jedne do osam godina, dobili tim putem.
"Imao sam pet godina kada je Bog dao život Lydiji i Timothyju i od tada čuva taj život", rekao je Philip Ridgeway za CNN.
"U nekom smislu, oni su naša najstarija djeca, iako su naša najmanja djeca."
“Ima nešto zapanjujuće u tome”, dodao je.

Blizanci su rođeni u američkoj državi Tennessee iz embrija zamrznutih prije više od 30 godina, prenio je BBC.
Vjeruje se da je to novi rekord za najduže zamrznute embrije koji su rezultirali živorođenom djecom.
Pohranjeni su na minus 128C u tekućem dušiku 22. travnja 1992.


Rachel Ridgeway, majka četvero djece iz Oregona, blizance je rodila 31. listopada ove godine. Otac, Philip Ridgeway, rekao je da je to bilo "zapanjujuće".


Blizanci Lydia Ann i Timothy Ronald Ridgeway vjerojatno predstavljaju novi rekord, prema Nacionalnom centru za donaciju embrija (NEDC), privatnoj vjerskoj organizaciji koja kaže da je pomogla rođenju više od 1200 djece iz doniranih embrija.


Prethodna rekorderka NEDC-a, Molly Gibson, rođena je 2020. iz embrija koji je bio zamrznut gotovo 27 godina na gotovo 200 stupnjeva ispod nule.


"Odluka o usvajanju tih embrija trebala bi umiriti pacijente koji se pitaju bi li itko bio voljan usvojiti embrije koje su stvorili prije 5, 10, 20 godina", rekao je dr. John David Gordon, koji je izvršio prijenos embrija.

Embriji blizanaca stvoreni su za anonimni bračni par pomoću umjetne oplodnje. Muškarac je bio u svojim 50-ima, a darivateljica jajnih stanica imala je 34 godine. Držali su ih u komori u laboratoriju za plodnost na zapadnoj obali SAD-a do 2007. kada ih je par donirao NEDC-u u Knoxvilleu, Tennessee kako bi ih umjesto njih koristio drugi par.


Embriolozi u NEDC-ovoj partnerskoj klinici Southeastern Fertility izveli su odmrzavanje i prijenos u maternicu ranije ove godine.
U priopćenju, NEDC je rekao kako se nada da će ova vijest "ohrabriti druge da i sami iskuse blagoslove usvajanja embrija".


To je prvo dijete koje su Ridgewayevi, koji imaju još četvero djece u dobi od jedne do osam godina, dobili tim putem.
"Imao sam pet godina kada je Bog dao život Lydiji i Timothyju i od tada čuva taj život", rekao je Philip Ridgeway za CNN.
"U nekom smislu, oni su naša najstarija djeca, iako su naša najmanja djeca."
“Ima nešto zapanjujuće u tome”, dodao je.

Blizanci su rođeni u američkoj državi Tennessee iz embrija zamrznutih prije više od 30 godina, prenio je BBC.
Vjeruje se da je to novi rekord za najduže zamrznute embrije koji su rezultirali živorođenom djecom.
Pohranjeni su na minus 128C u tekućem dušiku 22. travnja 1992.


Rachel Ridgeway, majka četvero djece iz Oregona, blizance je rodila 31. listopada ove godine. Otac, Philip Ridgeway, rekao je da je to bilo "zapanjujuće".


Blizanci Lydia Ann i Timothy Ronald Ridgeway vjerojatno predstavljaju novi rekord, prema Nacionalnom centru za donaciju embrija (NEDC), privatnoj vjerskoj organizaciji koja kaže da je pomogla rođenju više od 1200 djece iz doniranih embrija.
