Britanski teretni brod koji je potonuo u Crvenom moru nakon raketnog napada jemenskih hutista predstavlja rizik za okoliš i pomorski promet, upozorilo je u nedjelju američko Bliskoistočno vojno zapovjedništvo (Centcom).

Teretni brod Rubymar pod zastavom Belizea, registriran u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i kojim su upravljali Libanonci, potonuo je u subotu s teretom gnojiva nakon što su ga 19. veljače pogodila dva projektila hutista.

Napad nije prouzročio žrtve među posadom.

"Oko 21.000 tona gnojiva na bazi amonijaka, koje je brod prevozio, predstavlja rizik za okoliš u Crvenom moru", naveo je Centcom u priopćenju.

"Potonuvši ispod površine, plovilo također predstavlja opasnost zbog mogućnosti sudara s drugim plovilima koja prolaze prometnim plovnim putovima ove pomorske rute", dodaje se.

Brod je napušten nakon što su ga pogodile rakete dok je, prema agenciji za pomorsku sigurnost UKMTO, bio 65 kilometara od jemenske luke Moke na jugozapadu zemlje.

Američka vojska ranije je objavila da je raketni napad značajno oštetio brod za rasuti teret i prouzročio naftnu mrlju dugu 29 km.

Ispuštanje tako velikih količina gnojiva u Crveno more predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju morskom životu, rekao je Ali Al-Sawalmih, direktor Pomorskog znanstvenog centra na Sveučilištu u Jordanu.

Nagli skok hranjivih tvari može potaknuti pretjerani rast algi, trošeći toliko kisika da obični morski život ne može preživjeti, rekao je Al-Sawalmih.

Ekosustav južnog Crvenog mora sadrži netaknute koraljne grebene, obalne skupina drveća u lagunama tzv. mangrove i raznolik morski život.

Hutisti, pobunjenici koje podupire Iran, od studenoga izvode napade na brodove u Crvenom moru i Adenskom zaljevu u znak solidarnosti s Palestincima u Gazi gdje Izrael vodi rat protiv Hamasa kao odmazdu za napad islamističkog pokreta 7. listopada.

Rubymar prvi je izgubljeni brod otkako su hutisti počeli gađati komercijalne brodove.

Sjedinjene Američke Države u prosincu su uspostavile multinacionalne snage kako bi štitile pomorski promet u tim strateškim vodama, a od siječnja pokrenule su brojne napade na ciljeve hutista u Jemenu.

U nekim napadima sudjelovala je i Velika Britanija.

Prema MMF-u, pomorski kontejnerski prijevoz kroz Crveno more pao je za gotovo 30 posto na godišnjoj razini.

Prije sukoba, između 12 i 15 posto svjetskog prometa prolazilo je tom rutom, prema podacima Europske unije.

Hutistički napadi bespilotnim letjelicama i projektilima prisilili su brodarske tvrtke da preusmjere brodove na dužu rutu oko južne Afrike, remeteći globalnu trgovinu kašnjenjem isporuka i višim troškovima slanja.

Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, ministar vanjskih poslova u međunarodno priznatoj jemenskoj vladi u Adenu, napisao je na platformi X: "Potonuće Rubymara je ekološka katastrofa kakvu Jemen i regija nikada prije nisu doživjeli.

"To je nova tragedija za našu zemlju i naš narod. Svaki dan plaćamo cijenu za avanture hutističke milicije".

Međunarodno priznata vlada, koju podupire Saudijska Arabija, u ratu je s hutistima od 2014. godine.

Britanski teretni brod koji je potonuo u Crvenom moru nakon raketnog napada jemenskih hutista predstavlja rizik za okoliš i pomorski promet, upozorilo je u nedjelju američko Bliskoistočno vojno zapovjedništvo (Centcom).

Teretni brod Rubymar pod zastavom Belizea, registriran u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i kojim su upravljali Libanonci, potonuo je u subotu s teretom gnojiva nakon što su ga 19. veljače pogodila dva projektila hutista.

Napad nije prouzročio žrtve među posadom.

"Oko 21.000 tona gnojiva na bazi amonijaka, koje je brod prevozio, predstavlja rizik za okoliš u Crvenom moru", naveo je Centcom u priopćenju.

"Potonuvši ispod površine, plovilo također predstavlja opasnost zbog mogućnosti sudara s drugim plovilima koja prolaze prometnim plovnim putovima ove pomorske rute", dodaje se.

Brod je napušten nakon što su ga pogodile rakete dok je, prema agenciji za pomorsku sigurnost UKMTO, bio 65 kilometara od jemenske luke Moke na jugozapadu zemlje.

Ispuštanje tako velikih količina gnojiva u Crveno more predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju morskom životu, rekao je Ali Al-Sawalmih, direktor Pomorskog znanstvenog centra na Sveučilištu u Jordanu.

Nagli skok hranjivih tvari može potaknuti pretjerani rast algi, trošeći toliko kisika da obični morski život ne može preživjeti, rekao je Al-Sawalmih.

Ekosustav južnog Crvenog mora sadrži netaknute koraljne grebene, obalne skupina drveća u lagunama tzv. mangrove i raznolik morski život.

Hutisti, pobunjenici koje podupire Iran, od studenoga izvode napade na brodove u Crvenom moru i Adenskom zaljevu u znak solidarnosti s Palestincima u Gazi gdje Izrael vodi rat protiv Hamasa kao odmazdu za napad islamističkog pokreta 7. listopada.

Rubymar prvi je izgubljeni brod otkako su hutisti počeli gađati komercijalne brodove.

Sjedinjene Američke Države u prosincu su uspostavile multinacionalne snage kako bi štitile pomorski promet u tim strateškim vodama, a od siječnja pokrenule su brojne napade na ciljeve hutista u Jemenu.

U nekim napadima sudjelovala je i Velika Britanija.

Prema MMF-u, pomorski kontejnerski prijevoz kroz Crveno more pao je za gotovo 30 posto na godišnjoj razini.

Prije sukoba, između 12 i 15 posto svjetskog prometa prolazilo je tom rutom, prema podacima Europske unije.

Hutistički napadi bespilotnim letjelicama i projektilima prisilili su brodarske tvrtke da preusmjere brodove na dužu rutu oko južne Afrike, remeteći globalnu trgovinu kašnjenjem isporuka i višim troškovima slanja.

Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, ministar vanjskih poslova u međunarodno priznatoj jemenskoj vladi u Adenu, napisao je na platformi X: "Potonuće Rubymara je ekološka katastrofa kakvu Jemen i regija nikada prije nisu doživjeli.

"To je nova tragedija za našu zemlju i naš narod. Svaki dan plaćamo cijenu za avanture hutističke milicije".

Međunarodno priznata vlada, koju podupire Saudijska Arabija, u ratu je s hutistima od 2014. godine.

Britanski teretni brod koji je potonuo u Crvenom moru nakon raketnog napada jemenskih hutista predstavlja rizik za okoliš i pomorski promet, upozorilo je u nedjelju američko Bliskoistočno vojno zapovjedništvo (Centcom).

Teretni brod Rubymar pod zastavom Belizea, registriran u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i kojim su upravljali Libanonci, potonuo je u subotu s teretom gnojiva nakon što su ga 19. veljače pogodila dva projektila hutista.

Napad nije prouzročio žrtve među posadom.

"Oko 21.000 tona gnojiva na bazi amonijaka, koje je brod prevozio, predstavlja rizik za okoliš u Crvenom moru", naveo je Centcom u priopćenju.

"Potonuvši ispod površine, plovilo također predstavlja opasnost zbog mogućnosti sudara s drugim plovilima koja prolaze prometnim plovnim putovima ove pomorske rute", dodaje se.

Brod je napušten nakon što su ga pogodile rakete dok je, prema agenciji za pomorsku sigurnost UKMTO, bio 65 kilometara od jemenske luke Moke na jugozapadu zemlje.
