U prvom Velikom ratu u 20. stoljeću, koji je trajao od 1914.-1918., dubrovačko stanovništvo kao dio Austro-Ugarske Monarhije pretrpjelo je značajna stradavanja i posljedice. Posebnu ulogu u pomaganju siromašnima, djeci i bolesnima, odigrale su  žene okupljene u Narodnoj ženskoj zadruzi, koja je osnovana 1919. godine na inicijativu Jelene Ohmučević pl. Bizzaro, dugogodišnje nastavnice ženske Preparandije. Zadruga je imala dvije ustanove, „Pčelicu“, koja je okupljala djecu, učila ih radu, čistoći i urednosti, te  organizirala rad i igru djece u slobodno vrijeme te „Starateljstvo za plućne bolesnike“.

Zadruga je u Dubrovniku otvorila i „Sekciju za njegovanje narodnog veziva i podizanje domaće industrije“. Pri njoj su se održavale radionice i poduke za narodno vezivo. Narodna ženska zadruga s ustanovom „Pčelica“ otvorila je 1920. godine podružnicu u Cavtatu , a 1921. i Povjerenstvo u Stonu. Zadruga je surađivala s učiteljicom Jelkom Miš, predsjednicom Ženske Udruge iz Cavtata, s kojom su priređivane zajedničke izložbe ručnih radova, stoji na stranicama Etnografskog muzeja.

Jelka Miš 1919. vratila se iz Cavtata u rodni Dubrovnik. U svojoj kući na dubrovačkim zidinama, izvezla je prekrasan stolnjak za 12 osoba, kojega je namijenila darovati predsjedniku SAD-a Woodrowu Wilsonu. Stolnjak je nazvala „dar slobodi“ u spomen na veliki doprinos Amerike u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Stolnjak s dvanaest tavajula i popratno pismo uputila je preko prijatelja 23. prosinca 1918. u nadi da će biti uručen predsjedniku Wilsonu, u prigodi Mirovne konferencije u Parizu od 18.-21. siječnja 1919. godine. Zbog nejasnih okolnosti dar mu je uručen tek 25.travnja 1919. Treba spomenuti da su, uz Jelku, učenice njezine škole također vezle stolnjak s istom porukom, a darovan je tadašnjem načelniku Dubrovnika gosparu Melku Čingriji.

Po primitku dara, predsjednik Wilson uputio je Jelki Miš toplo pismo zahvale na engleskom jeziku. U obiteljskoj ostavštini Jelke Miš sačuvan je i prijevod ovog pisma u dubrovačkom idiomu: “…Gospođa Wilson i ja duboko cijenimo taj važni dar, on će nam biti vječna uspomena prijateljstva, od osobe čigovi radovi su nikli u narodu za koga se mi duboko zanimamo, pak će svojom ljepotom da bude ures sobe u kojom će se nalaziti posluživši kao sjajna zraka od jako dalekih prijatelja. Srdačno i iskreno Vaš Woodrow Wilson”.  

Originalno pismo američkog predsjednika Woodrowa Wilsona i njegov prijevod bili su izloženi 2010. godine na izložbi “Jelka Miš - život posvećen baštini“, a nalaze se u privatnom vlasništvu obitelji.

muzeja objavljena je još jedna zanimljiva crtica iz prošlosti, ovaj put su u 'glavnim ulogama' dubrovačka učiteljica Jelka Miš te utemeljitelj Lige narode, 28. predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Woodrow Wilson. Prenosimo tekst više kustosice Etnografskog muzeja Branke Hajdić:

U prvom Velikom ratu u 20. stoljeću, koji je trajao od 1914.-1918., dubrovačko stanovništvo kao dio Austro-Ugarske Monarhije pretrpjelo je značajna stradavanja i posljedice. Posebnu ulogu u pomaganju siromašnima, djeci i bolesnima, odigrale su  žene okupljene u Narodnoj ženskoj zadruzi, koja je osnovana 1919. godine na inicijativu Jelene Ohmučević pl. Bizzaro, dugogodišnje nastavnice ženske Preparandije. Zadruga je imala dvije ustanove, „Pčelicu“, koja je okupljala djecu, učila ih radu, čistoći i urednosti, te  organizirala rad i igru djece u slobodno vrijeme te „Starateljstvo za plućne bolesnike“.

Zadruga je u Dubrovniku otvorila i „Sekciju za njegovanje narodnog veziva i podizanje domaće industrije“. Pri njoj su se održavale radionice i poduke za narodno vezivo. Narodna ženska zadruga s ustanovom „Pčelica“ otvorila je 1920. godine podružnicu u Cavtatu , a 1921. i Povjerenstvo u Stonu. Zadruga je surađivala s učiteljicom Jelkom Miš, predsjednicom Ženske Udruge iz Cavtata, s kojom su priređivane zajedničke izložbe ručnih radova, stoji na stranicama Etnografskog muzeja.

Jelka Miš 1919. vratila se iz Cavtata u rodni Dubrovnik. U svojoj kući na dubrovačkim zidinama, izvezla je prekrasan stolnjak za 12 osoba, kojega je namijenila darovati predsjedniku SAD-a Woodrowu Wilsonu. Stolnjak je nazvala „dar slobodi“ u spomen na veliki doprinos Amerike u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Stolnjak s dvanaest tavajula i popratno pismo uputila je preko prijatelja 23. prosinca 1918. u nadi da će biti uručen predsjedniku Wilsonu, u prigodi Mirovne konferencije u Parizu od 18.-21. siječnja 1919. godine. Zbog nejasnih okolnosti dar mu je uručen tek 25.travnja 1919. Treba spomenuti da su, uz Jelku, učenice njezine škole također vezle stolnjak s istom porukom, a darovan je tadašnjem načelniku Dubrovnika gosparu Melku Čingriji.

Po primitku dara, predsjednik Wilson uputio je Jelki Miš toplo pismo zahvale na engleskom jeziku. U obiteljskoj ostavštini Jelke Miš sačuvan je i prijevod ovog pisma u dubrovačkom idiomu: “…Gospođa Wilson i ja duboko cijenimo taj važni dar, on će nam biti vječna uspomena prijateljstva, od osobe čigovi radovi su nikli u narodu za koga se mi duboko zanimamo, pak će svojom ljepotom da bude ures sobe u kojom će se nalaziti posluživši kao sjajna zraka od jako dalekih prijatelja. Srdačno i iskreno Vaš Woodrow Wilson”.  

Originalno pismo američkog predsjednika Woodrowa Wilsona i njegov prijevod bili su izloženi 2010. godine na izložbi “Jelka Miš - život posvećen baštini“, a nalaze se u privatnom vlasništvu obitelji.

JELKA MIŠ Dubrovačka učiteljica kojoj je američki predsjednik Woodrow Wilson uputio pismo zahvale

Na Facebook-stranici Dubrovačkih muzeja objavljena je još jedna zanimljiva crtica iz prošlosti, ovaj put su u 'glavnim ulogama' dubrovačka učiteljica Jelka Miš te utemeljitelj Lige narode, 28. predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Woodrow Wilson. Prenosimo tekst više kustosice Etnografskog muzeja Branke Hajdić:

U prvom Velikom ratu u 20. stoljeću, koji je trajao od 1914.-1918., dubrovačko stanovništvo kao dio Austro-Ugarske Monarhije pretrpjelo je značajna stradavanja i posljedice. Posebnu ulogu u pomaganju siromašnima, djeci i bolesnima, odigrale su  žene okupljene u Narodnoj ženskoj zadruzi, koja je osnovana 1919. godine na inicijativu Jelene Ohmučević pl. Bizzaro, dugogodišnje nastavnice ženske Preparandije. Zadruga je imala dvije ustanove, „Pčelicu“, koja je okupljala djecu, učila ih radu, čistoći i urednosti, te  organizirala rad i igru djece u slobodno vrijeme te „Starateljstvo za plućne bolesnike“.

Zadruga je u Dubrovniku otvorila i „Sekciju za njegovanje narodnog veziva i podizanje domaće industrije“. Pri njoj su se održavale radionice i poduke za narodno vezivo. Narodna ženska zadruga s ustanovom „Pčelica“ otvorila je 1920. godine podružnicu u Cavtatu , a 1921. i Povjerenstvo u Stonu. Zadruga je surađivala s učiteljicom Jelkom Miš, predsjednicom Ženske Udruge iz Cavtata, s kojom su priređivane zajedničke izložbe ručnih radova, stoji na stranicama Etnografskog muzeja.

Jelka Miš 1919. vratila se iz Cavtata u rodni Dubrovnik. U svojoj kući na dubrovačkim zidinama, izvezla je prekrasan stolnjak za 12 osoba, kojega je namijenila darovati predsjedniku SAD-a Woodrowu Wilsonu. Stolnjak je nazvala „dar slobodi“ u spomen na veliki doprinos Amerike u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Stolnjak s dvanaest tavajula i popratno pismo uputila je preko prijatelja 23. prosinca 1918. u nadi da će biti uručen predsjedniku Wilsonu, u prigodi Mirovne konferencije u Parizu od 18.-21. siječnja 1919. godine. Zbog nejasnih okolnosti dar mu je uručen tek 25.travnja 1919. Treba spomenuti da su, uz Jelku, učenice njezine škole također vezle stolnjak s istom porukom, a darovan je tadašnjem načelniku Dubrovnika gosparu Melku Čingriji.

Po primitku dara, predsjednik Wilson uputio je Jelki Miš toplo pismo zahvale na engleskom jeziku. U obiteljskoj ostavštini Jelke Miš sačuvan je i prijevod ovog pisma u dubrovačkom idiomu: “…Gospođa Wilson i ja duboko cijenimo taj važni dar, on će nam biti vječna uspomena prijateljstva, od osobe čigovi radovi su nikli u narodu za koga se mi duboko zanimamo, pak će svojom ljepotom da bude ures sobe u kojom će se nalaziti posluživši kao sjajna zraka od jako dalekih prijatelja. Srdačno i iskreno Vaš Woodrow Wilson”.  

Originalno pismo američkog predsjednika Woodrowa Wilsona i njegov prijevod bili su izloženi 2010. godine na izložbi “Jelka Miš - život posvećen baštini“, a nalaze se u privatnom vlasništvu obitelji.
